Publications

Dr. Pacik’s publications dealing with vaginismus are now available on the website by linking to Resources.

Important data continues to be collected and published. Botox treatment for vaginismus combined with progressive dilation under anesthesia and post procedure counseling is still new to the medical profession. By publishing data, recording successes and tabulating complications, the medical community will gain understanding about this process. Scientific publications will ensure the credibility of the Botox program to treat vaginismus, especially the more severe cases of vaginismus.

It is important that all of us in the vaginismus community continue to advocate for both the dissemination of an understanding of vaginismus as well as the support of women who are still struggling with this condition. I have done radio shows which have been recorded and can be heard in the resources section. Botox for vaginismus has been mentioned on the Doctors, 20/20, the Tyra Banks show and vaginismus has been featured on Oprah. It is not yet enough, and too much ignorance surrounds vaginismus. It is not yet taught in medical schools or residency programs despite affecting millions of women worldwide.

Everyone who has been treated should make an effort to contact newspapers, magazines, radio stations and television. Don’t be afraid to go public. Only in this way will we all make vaginismus a more well known medical diagnosis, and help tear down the walls of silence and ignorance that surround this condition.
