Dilation Schedule

Dilation Schedule Different for Every Patient

Every patient progresses at a different rate following treatment of their vaginismus with the Botox and dilation program. Some progress quickly, others take longer. Two of my patients took eight months to achieve their goals. Below is a representative dilation schedule. Patients are asked to keep a daily log of their dilation schedules after treatment and to enter the most recent day at the top of the word document. This allows me to review the entire schedule and to make adjustments as needed. The common theme is that patients start slowly, with the smaller dilators, and work up to being comfortable with the larger dilators. The important aspect is to take responsibility for one’s own dilation schedule. The successes are amazing!
